Your Best Friend ... Is In Great Hands!

The Dog Training Centre

…with the ‘bow’ wow factor!

Jill works with dogs of all shapes and sizes and ages. Many of the dogs have nervous aggression problems so Jill uses her team of 'teaching dogs' to work with them on a one to one basis helping the owners to understand that their reaction to their dog is as important as the training for the dogs.

Jill is especially talented working with rescue dogs, which is where her passion lies. She has rescued and rehomed many dogs (and cats) so has vast experience dealing with 'problem' dogs with no history.

She also teaches 3 group training sessions a week at the Training Center.

Dog Training
& Behavioural Treatment

Our Training

At Happy Days Dog Training Centre, our decades of experience are welcomed by many dog owners as an opportunity to ensure that their pet not only enjoys the break, but, at the same time, undergoes essential and enjoyable behavioural treatment and training. Owners are often surprised at how quickly many problems can be ironed out!

We have lots of fun in our training classes. Teaching the dogs to focus and do as they are told even when other dogs are around. Look at the clever dogs all doing step up for grooming, all together, listening to their handlers.

Class Times

  • Monday 8pm to 9 pm
  • Wednesday 8pm - 9pm
  • Saturday 11am - 12pm for beginners
  • Saturday 12pm - 2pm for dogs with problems

Jill works her magic yet again...

This little lad was so nervous Jill couldnt touch him. He came into training for 2 weeks so Jill could work with him every day. As you can see, he is so improved he sits on Jills lap. He is now attending the group sessions at Happy Days, his owner is over the moon that he isnt frightened any more and is a happy boy.

Nervous Dogs

Jills passion is working with nervous or frightened dogs. In 2019 Jill started a new group class on Saturday mornings to help people who are struggling to take their nervous & frightened dogs out for a walk. The more advanced handlers join in with their dogs, or handle Jills teaching dogs to work with the nervous dogs to show how with the right handing techniques they can overcome their nerves and learn to be o k around other people and dogs. Part of this new class is for everyone to go out for a walk together so Jill can teach 'in the real world, in real time'. These new classes are very popular so advanced booking is necessary to join them.

Rescue Dogs

Jills other passion is rescue dogs. All of her dogs are rescues so she knows them inside out. Anyone having a problem settling in their new rescue dog or training it in its new environment, give Jill a call, she will be able to help with basic or more complex problems. This is Sarah just arriving at Happy Days to find a new home. Jill gets to know her first, and let her know she is now safe for ever.

Nita & Bella - Jills Teaching Dogs

Nita and Bella are 2 of Jills 'Teaching Dogs'. They communicate to any nervous dog that there isnt a problem, after just a few sessions they will have joined the group and learned how to play

More On Our Teaching Dogs

Maddie, Nita and J D are all rescue dogs. They form the basis of Jill's group of 'teaching dogs'

They have worked their magic on many frightened dogs, changing them from sad nervous dogs into happy friendly little people.

Kaiser - The German Shepherd

Kaiser - very nervous German Shepherd dog, Nita soon had him eating out of her paw.

Dogs nailed the step up exercise in class

Very useful if you have a dog that wriggles when you are grooming, they stand still for you with their feet on the stool

University Talks

Jill and her team have been to Bangor University to give a couple of talks about her work with dogs. Each time she has taken a few of the dogs she has rescued to show the students how to train rescue dogs to leave their old life behind and move on to have a great new life in a new home. She has also given talks on how to train family pets to be part of the family and be able to take them anywhere with them.

Fund Raising

We also do fund raising for our rescue, we all dressed up as Romanian people for our walk along the canal in Llangollen and walked along the canal during a sponsored walk to raise funds for our rescue which is run by members of the dog club. Of course the dogs came too.

We have been invited to 'perform' at Llanfair D C show for many years. It is lovely to support our local village with their fundraising. We do a training display and show how much fun it can be to train your dog to be well behaved using only kind methods Some club members also won rosettes in the dog show. It is great for our club members to be out together and new members to have support with their dogs when out and about.

One To One Classes

Jills one to one classes have to be seen to be believed. After an initial chat with the owners Jill will bring out her team of teaching dogs. They are sensational, they go to work to show the 'new' dog there is nothing to be afraid of, show them how to interact with other dogs, what is and isnt acceptable and how to play. Anyone that has seen these dogs work are amazed at how quickly the new dog gets the message and joins in. Just like Jill they all work with kindness and understanding. If you want to book one of these special classes give Jill a ring and she will book a one to one for you at a time to suit you and your dog.

After working with Jill one to one for a while and when your dog is ready, you may be invited to join in one of the group classes. This is the goal, to come to class with other dogs around and not reacting to the other dogs or people. Bobbi the collie is now a very special member of dog club. Well done Bobbi and Simon.
